This is seriously one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. Very unique and expertly decorated. The room is both stylish and welcoming. Amenities are great and tons of little in-room intricacies that set this apart from your typical stay. I won’t give them away as I hope each guest is as pleasantly surprised as I was. Furniture and bed are very comfortable.Service is an A++ , check in was a breeze and Gillis is a rockstar. Polite and great communication. Can’t say enough nice things; will be staying here again.

Halfway between a hotel and an AirBNB, The Hive offers a unique lodging experience. There’s no staff on-site though Gillis is only a text away (and quite responsive). While some travelers may find themselves missing some of the typical hotel perks, The Hive was perfect for our purposes. Situated next to CFCC and two blocks from The Riverfront, The Hive’s location is hard to beat. We found plenty to eat, drink, and do within a ten-minute walk.Our suite was spacious and full of thoughtful touches (such as complimentary snacks and drinks). Creepy bathroom sloth painting notwithstanding, fun artwork and eclectic design helped give the suite a welcome dose of character. The amenities were also great: the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was huge, and the shower boasted strong water pressure. While The Hive is, on average, cheaper than nearby hotels, paying $19 a day for its lot across the street felt like a reach.Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. This Hive proved to be far from wretched and was, thankfully, scum and villainy free.

😀 - Room was nice. Complementary drinks and snacks were nice. 😞 - Paid parking is overzealous. Suite should come with atleast one free parking space.

This is my second visit at The Hive! We went for my birthday in July 2022 and again this past weekend for a little one night get away. This is hands down the best place to stay in Wilmington if you want an exceptionally clean room, all amenities you could ask for and more you never expected. It is within walking distance to everything downtown Wilmington has to offer. The parking lot does need some work, for sure. Other than that, if I could give The Hive a 10 rating, I would. Thanks to Gillis for the excellent communication and keeping everything perfect for the guests. We hope to return very soon!

Best place to stay in Wilmington by far. One of the coolest boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. Rooms are nice and spacious. Feels like a home. Location is amazing. Would not recommend any other place in WIlmington. They should actually charge more :). It's so nice! Franklin

This might be my favorite "hotel" I've ever stayed at. Super nice rooms with everything you could possibly need. Comfy furniture and bed. I can't wait to plan another trip to Wilmington to book another stay!

EVERYTHING was amazing!! Beautifully decorated and clean. The owners thought of everything you might need and more. Walking distance to restaurants. We ate at Manna…which made our short stay perfect! We would repeat the stay exactly the same…we wouldn’t change a thing!

😀 - Location was convenient. Beautifully and uniquely appointed. Truly had every amenity you needed. 😞 - We would of loved more comfy furniture. It was difficult to settle in and feel comfort on the existing furnishings.

The Hive is awesome and we would recommend if you are able to get a reservation.The rooms are artsy and eclectic. Everything you would hope to find is provided.Luxurious bed, sheets, pillows, and towels. Fast response to any questions.We met one person on staff, she was caring and professional. We mentioned it was our anniversary and we’re surprised with a bottle of champagne, glasses, and a darling congratulations note. We also had a friend send us a gift and although you need a code to enter the building found the gift in our room when we returned from lunch. It is within walking distance to many fine restaurants in the historic district. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is. We loved our stay.

Thank you The Hive!!! My husband and I had the best time in Wilmington. The suite was amazing. All the finishing touches were so appreciated. I have traveled extensively and can't think of a better place to stay. We will definitely be back again soon.

Second Visit: This place is still one of my favorite hotels to date. We stayed longer this time, and it is bliss. Incredible customer service with quick replies! Truly a happy place to be.This place is too dreamy! Fantastic, quick, and loving customer service. As someone who needed to cook my own meals, the full kitchen provide a lot of comfort. The great AC, workout area, and washers + dryers helped provide an optimal experience after having bad luck with a local Airbnb. Quick straight drive to the beach, and access to wonderful downtown area. We will absolutely be returning! Heads up about parking- it is a tight lot if all spots are filled.

Pros: comfortable bed, spacious, modern, nice part of town, local to Riverwalk, coffee choices / maker are awesome! Clean.Our first time staying in Wilmington and The Hive has made it extra special!Spacious suite with cool decor. The thoughtful amenities are a nice touch e.g. toothbrush/ paste, snack basket, and comforts of a modern 1 bedroom flat.Con:Our only issue is the parking... the pebble rocks are brutal to walk with your luggage and we found the spaces way too small with no handicap spots. If the hive could include the parking charge in the price of the rooms / suites, pave the lot and allot 2 handicap spots, the it will be 5 star ideal. However, we would definitely stay here again!

This place was awesome! Great location. Awesome design in renovated industrial building. Every little creature comfort was thought of - free drinks, snacks, and amenities in-room. A great concept that I hope grows to new locations! Looking forward to our next stay!

What a gem! I was in town for work and decided to stay for the weekend. I stumbled upon the hive in a google search and I had to see what it was about.The pricing is comparable to other conventional downtown hotels so that was fine. The aesthetics are out of this world and definitely didn’t expect as much in Wilmy. Every detail has been thought out and appeals to all senses. The room itself was clean and had thoughtful and useful touches throughout (makeup towels, beverages and snacks, dishes). The location is extremely walkable to downtown restaurants and bars but quiet and fairly light on foot traffic.My only constructive feedback would be regarding the parking and pet policy wording. For the price perhaps consider including parking. I understand it may not be possible since it’s on a different lot so the fee is likely to offset cost, but to consider including it and charging a little more for the room so it doesn’t feel like nickeling and diming. The welcome sheet in the room was super cute and informative but the wording about not bringing pets “trust us we will know” was a little off putting and had me and my boyfriend wondering if there were cameras in the room. The other reviews mentioned someone may have entered their room (hope this wasn’t the case for us) but just food for thought.I ran into Gillis (I think that was her name) when checking out and she was friendly and warm. Only knew her name and what she looked like from the helpful cards in the room :)Overall a unique and positive experience. I plan to stay again when I return.Update- stayed again for my birthday weekend and enjoyed it as much as, if not more, than my first stay. We took the advantage of the walkability of the hotel, and enjoyed the comedy club just a block over. Love this hotel! It truly is one of the reasons I visit Wilmington so frequently. I’ve made it my mission to stay in all the rooms lol!

😀 - Amenities, remote entry, comfort of beds/linens, quick response when calling for help with remote entry problem 😞 - Our confirmation information created confusion when we were told the incorrect suite number. Upon arriving, we were unable to gain entry to our suite with the incorrect information.

Hands down the best place I've stayed in Wilmington! The small things, little details, mean so much and they pay attention to those here. To leaving single packs of headache medicine to having toothbrushes already here (two different patterns so you know which is yours). If you get the chance, check them out. 😉

Beautiful place, location is great if you want to explore downtown. And those bed sheets very so cozy and so soooo soft! You got few cold drinks and fridge, snacks...our dog had snacks, towel, blanket and bowls. They pay attention to detail...will be back! Communication was amazing! Wish we could stay longer!
